Eighteen Suspects Arrested During Weapons Campaign
Eighteen suspects were arrested and 63 firearms were confiscated during the July campaign of the Weapons Collecting Detectives Department said Director General of Weapons Collecting Detectives Department Major General Farraj Al-Zoubi as the national campaign to collect weapons, ammunition and explosives continues its success to achieve its goals. Major General Farraj Zoubi said activities of the department during July were divided into two parts. The first part was carried out by the detectives department where 14 cases were recorded, 18 suspects were arrested and 63 firearms were confiscated, while 14 warrants were obtained to search 14 homes. The second part was carried out by information and licenses department which issued 5,012 weapons licenses. Zoubi added the number of firearms which were collected is 7,408, besides over 20 tons of ammunition. The weapons and ammunition collected during the campaign are sent to the police department and the Kuwaiti Army, Zoubi explained.
