Encourage Kuwaitis To Work In Private Sector
MP Khaled Al-Otaibi has proposed adding an article to the law on national manpower financial support and encouraging citizens to work in the non-governmental sector, reports Al-Rai daily.
The objective of the proposal is to regulate the disbursement of financial assistance to nationals employed in the non-governmental sector.
The current version of the law mandates the Cabinet to determine the amount given to citizens working in the private sector, but this destabilized the disbursement of funds as it is based on the preference of each government institution and the circumstances which change from time to time. The lawmaker’s proposal obliges the government to give a certain amount which will not change unless another law is passed by the Parliament.
The proposal includes a stipulation to base the amount granted to citizens working in the non-governmental sector on the living standard and family needs. It then suggested increasing national manpower support to KD 500 for those specialized in certain fields like medicine, engineering and pharmacy.
This amount does not cover other allowances such as social, children and cost of living allowances. The proposal also increased national manpower support for graduates of law, accountancy, information technology, statistics, economy, nursing and financial related occupations such as banks and teaching to KD 420.
