Fake Real Estate Seller Held
Police have arrested an unidentified impostor for swindling dozens of Kuwaitis and residents by selling them real estate and apartments in Turkey, Egypt, and Lebanon based on counterfeit sale contracts, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The arrest came after police received reports that a Kuwaiti runs a fake real estate office to attract prospective buyers and using pictures and plans of non-existent projects. He claimed the office owned those apartments and plots of lands and received huge sums of money as advance payment.
After taking the money, he shut down the office and disappeared. Police discovered he had left the country and set a trap for him and arrested when he returned. Meanwhile, Customs officers at the Sheikh Sa’ad Al-Abdullah International Airport recently foiled the attempt of a Bangladeshi man to smuggle six heroin capsules in the country, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The daily added the capsules were hidden in a handbag. The suspect and the drugs have been referred to the General Department for Drugs Control. And, a Kuwaiti has recently filed a complaint with the Salmiya Police Station, accusing his Tunisian wife of robbing equipments from his beauty parlor in Salmiya, reports Al-Rai daily.
The wife will be summoned for interrogation. In another development, the Kuwaiti diving team has picked up scores of dead oysters from the fl oor of the sea, reports Al-Anba daily.
