Family Court Dismissed The Lawsuit Filed By A Citizen Against His Ex-wife
The Family Court dismissed the lawsuit filed by a citizen against his ex-wife. The plaintiff asked the court to cancel the custody for their children granted to his ex-wife due to her frequent travels and chats with a youth through WhatsApp. Attorney Jarrah Al-Anzi, lawyer for the defendant, argued the lawsuit against his client is malicious as it is due to the divorce. He pointed out the case file lacks evidence, adding that the chat record does not necessarily mean an immoral relationship exists.
Citizen fined: The Court of Appeals presided over by Judge Ibrahim Al-Obaid overruled the verdict issued by the Court of First Instance which sentenced a Kuwaiti citizen to two-year imprisonment with hard labor for storming the house of his ex-wife and attacking her family with a knife. The court instead ordered him to pay a fine of KD 300. The brother of the citizen’s ex-wife had testified that he, on the fateful day, was in a car that he had parked in front of their house when the suspect came to him. The suspect grabbed the house keys from him and attacked him with a knife, knocking him down and causing several injuries. The suspect then entered their house where he assaulted their father. The defense counsel Lawyer Mohammed Al-Hussaini said the allegations against his client were malicious. He called for the invalidation of the investigations conducted as they were inconclusive and not serious. He also cited the contradictions in the statements of the witnesses.
