Kuwait Chapter of the IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants) announced today the arrival of Jeff Thompson, President and CEO of the IMA on an annual visit to attend the certification ceremony honoring members who have attained the CMA® (Certified Management Accountant) credential for the year 2019. The celebration will take place at Breezim Hall at the Symphony Style Hotel in Kuwait City on Monday, September 16, 2019.
The event brings together senior finance and accounting professionals in the country, to honor the recipients of the CMA credential and inculcate them into the IMA global fraternity. The guest of honor for the evening Eng. Amer Al Awadi, Chief Operating Officer, Ali Al Ghanim & Sons Group said “I look forward to meet with Jeff and discuss the upcoming trends in management accounting, especially with the advancement of technology in the region. It will be quite interesting to see how technology will affect the finance and accounting function across organizations in Kuwait”.
With the advent of the 4th Industrial revolution changing the way businesses operate in the region, Jeff Thompson will address the possible skills gap that organizations and in turn finance professionals may face in the future due to the integration of new-age technology such automation, artificial intelligence and digital data.
“We always look forward to Jeff’s annual visit to Kuwait. It further indoctrinates the message that the IMA is a global association with many benefits to its members. The members are interested to know new information about the continued education provided by the IMA and how it translates itself to the needs of our local market” said Sherif Dessouki, IMA Kuwait Chapter President.
