K. Jeeva Sagar Took Charge As The New Ambassador Of India To Kuwait

Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah on Thursday received the credentials of India's new ambassador to Kuwait K. Jeeva Sagar.

During the meeting, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled wished the new ambassador best of luck in his new duty, and more developed relations between both friendly countries. Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled Al-Jarallah, Assistant Foreign Minister for Protocols Ambassador Dhari Al-Ajran, Acting Assistant for Foreign Minister for the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister's Office Ambassador Saleh Al-Lughani and several other senior officials of the Foreign Ministry were present at the meeting.

Shri Jeeva Sagar, originally hails from Machilipatnam in Andhra Pradesh, is a 1991 batch Indian Foreign Service officer. Before joining Kuwait, the Ministry of External Affairs assigned him to Indian Missions in different parts of the world including West Asia (Iran), Europe (Ireland), Southern Africa (Zimbabwe), Latin America (Mexico) and East Asia (South Korea). 

After relinquishing his responsibilities as the Deputy Chief of the Indian Mission in Seoul, Shri Sagar assumed charge as the High Commissioner of India to the Republic of Ghana on 17 June 2013. He is also concurrently accredited to Togo, Burkina Faso and Sierra Leone.
