Kuwait Municipality To Expedite Jleeb Al-shuyoukh Development

Kuwait Municipality is expected to expedite the action on the infrastructure of Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area, reports Al-Qabas daily.

According to Al -Qabas daily, Kuwait Municipality is prepared to organize the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area. Municipality conducted a comprehensive study in 2007 to develop the area, and the Municipal Council approved of it. However it was pending for some objection raised.

Daily added that the council later accepted the objection and mandated the Municipality to embark on taking possession of blocks 19 and 20 in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh due to adverse effects of the bachelor residences within the vicinity. He affirmed that blocks 19 and 20 have since been possessed, as per Amiri order.

The locations were evacuated but no decision was taken on its usage. In late 2015 and early 2016, the Municipality carried out another study to upgrade private residential areas invaded by bachelors, in addition to violations on construction and land use, bad facilities, lack of responsibility for infrastructure due to population density, and imbalance population structure.

The source reiterated recommendations were issued in line with the above-mentioned points. The areas affected by residences of bachelors should be allocated to the Public Authority for Housing Welfare after possession, followed by the allocation and execution of new workers cities where expatriates living in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh can move to.
