Kuwait ranked 106th among 162 countries with 63.5 points in the latest global sustainable development goals index prepared by a group of experienced consultants in Germany – Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), reports Al-Qabas daily.

Kuwait came last among the GCC countries in the achievement of development goals, as UAE took 65th place globally, followed by Bahrain in 76th position and Oman 83th, while Qatar and KSA occupied 91st and 98th places respectively.

According to the report, Kuwait is moving toward achieving some sustainable development goals set by the UN, although it delays in conducting researches related to science and technology.

As a result, it registered low points not exceeding 0.2 in science and technology researches. Report mentioned that Kuwait recorded 0.4 points in research expenditure and gained 3.1 points despite the obstacles and challenges against Kuwaiti women competing for parliamentary seats.
