Rawa Al-jarallah Said No More Than 50 Cases Of Cheating Were Detected At The Kuwait University During The Recent Test
Assistant Vice-Chancellor for Assessment and Measurement at Kuwait University Rawa Al-Jarallah said no more than 50 cases of cheating were detected at the Kuwait University during the recent test, reports Al- Jarida daily.
The Vice-Chancellor noted the number of students enrolled in the previous exam was 8,700, although there were cases of students’ absence. Al-Jarallah said in a statement to the daily yesterday that most of the cases that were detected were students who tried to cheat through smart devices and speakers, and were taken out of the examination hall and a case of cheating was recorded against each of them. She added all the students who were caught cheating were deprived of answering all exam papers and will not be given any grades.
“This test is one of the most stressful tests, because it coincides with the high school exams, and this is the last opportunity for students wishing to join the Kuwait University.” There are no alternatives for testing at another date, to conduct the test, in coordination with the Ministry of Education and before the month of Ramadan. “The difference in the capacity (placement) test that took place last Saturday is that we started applying the electronic test, and it was tested on a group of students who succeeded in a small way. In the next test, we hope to apply the electronic test and dispense with the paper test for the English language so that the gradation will be dispensed with all paper tests during the next year. The experience of electronic testing was conducted on a small sample of students,” she said.
Meanwhile, in a new series of grave errors was found in the exams of students, one of the Physics questions for Grade 11 students (scientifi c major) came with the answer, reports Al-Qabas daily. After the distribution of the exam papers, the students were surprised upon seeing the answer to the fi fth question. Sources confirmed an investigation will be opened to refer those behind the error to the Legal Affairs Department. Sources said the Ministry of Education decided to give the full score for the abovementioned question to all students
