Kuwait To Obtain 400,000 Coronavirus Detection Devices On Wednesday
Kuwait is set to take delivery of as many as 400,000 instruments for coronavirus detection next Wednesday, said a senior health official on Sunday.
“The devices will be brought to the country next Wednesday and they will be distributed on Thursday. They will be in use as of next Sunday,” Assistant Undersecretary of the Health Ministry for Medicine and Medical Preparations Dr. Abdullah Al-Bader said to KUNA.
Once delivered, Kuwait will be the first country in the region to use these coronavirus detection instruments, which can help in determining check findings, be they positive or negative, in just five or ten minutes, Al-Bader added.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Health on Sunday recorded eight more cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), putting the Gulf country’s count of confirmed virus infections at 112. Known as COVID-19, the coronavirus, which first sickened people in China in December, is thought to have passed from animals to humans. The pandemic has claimed the lives of thousands of people, mostly in China, Italy, Iran and South Korea.
