Kuwaiti Athletes Honored To Be Feted By Amir

Olympic athletes Fehaid Al-Daihani and Abdullah Al-Rashidi said on Tuesday that they are honored to have been feted by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. In statements to KUNA, Al-Daihani and Al-Rashidi, who snagged gold and bronze medals respectively in the Rio de Janeiro Summer Olympic Games, said they dedicate the sporting accolades to the Kuwaiti leadership.

Moreover, Al-Daihani, who emerged victorious in the men's "double trap" competition, said that he is "honored to have amassed three Olympic medals for Kuwait." Meanwhile, Al-Rashidi, who came in third in the men's skeet competition, echoed his compatriot's sentiments, thanking His Highness the Amir for his support of the nation's athletes.

Chairman of the Kuwaiti Shooting Club Duaij Al-Otaibi noted that athletes have grown accustomed to being honored by the country's leadership for any sporting feat achieved. In an unprecedented achievement on Wednesday, Al-Daihani bagged the gold medal in the double trap competition of the Rio Olympic games, while Al-Rashidi followed suit with a bronze in the skeet contest.
