Kuwaiti Brings In 106 Expats By Selling Visas – Collects 150,000 Kd
In a new case of trafficking in human beings and in a case that confirms that the Ministry of Interior has put the visa traders under its microscope, the General Department of Residence Affairs has closed the file of a company run by a Kuwaiti for bringing into the country 106 workers for money exceeding 150,000 dinars, although the company is specialized in supply of goods and operates only 6 vehicles, reports Al-Anba daily.
The citizen, who is accused of bringing these workers into the country has been arrested and referred to the Public Prosecution. According to a security source, the arrest came after information reached the Director General of the General Department of Residency Affairs that the suspect had falsified the estimated need of the company and submitted a request to the Public Authority of Manpower after inflating the list of his required manpower for financial benefits.
The source said that the Director General of the General Department of Residence Investigation formed a search and investigation team and came to the conclusion, after checking with the General Traffic Department that the company has only six vehicles but the number of workers registered in the company file was 106 employees. Subsequently, the 41-year-old Kuwaiti was arrested and during interrogation he admitted to the charge.
