16 April 2017 Crime News

The Criminal Circuit of the Court of First Instance acquitted a Kuwaiti citizen who was accused of kidnapping and raping a minor boy. According to the complaint lodged by the victim’s father, his son and the suspect had met on social media and they then used to go out together. However, the suspect was not part of his son’s friends circle. His son later informed him that he was raped by the suspect who then threatened to post his personal pictures on social media. The Public Prosecution charged the citizen of kidnapping a minor, raping him and using a mobile phone for illegal purposes such as taking pictures of the victim forcefully, and then blackmailing him. The defense counsel Lawyer Abdulwahab Bin Salama stressed that the statements of the plaintiff’s father are contradicting, insisting on the lack of clear evidence to prove the allegations leveled against his client. He indicated that his client has been denying the allegations from the beginning.
