Ministry Has Suspended Activities For Ramadan This Year

Assistant Undersecretary for Cultural Affairs in the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Engineer Dawood Al-Asousi revealed that the ministry has suspended activities for Ramadan this year due to the current situation the country is undergoing with the rest of the world in relation to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, which continues to ravage nations with thousands of infections and deaths, reports Al-Rai daily.

Engineer Al-Asousi pointed out prayers for the last 10 days of Ramadan in the Grand Mosque of the State of Kuwait is suspended until the current crisis is over, and once that happens, cultural lessons and congregational prayer will restart in the mosque, as per instructions of the Council of Ministers and relevant authorities.

Engineer Al-Asousi pointed out that cultural affairs sector in the Ministry of Awqaf made various preparations for the last ten days of Ramadan at the Grand Mosque and had previously addressed all authorities that usually collaborate with the Ministry, such as the Ministries of Interior, Health, Information, Youth Affairs, in addition to Fire Services and other voluntary bodies on that since the beginning of last January, similar to the arrangements the ministry makes every year.

He stressed that all procedures are dependent on the decisions of Cabinet to restore prayers in the mosques, stressing the blessed month of Ramadan is a month of goodness, blessing and mercy, and we call on Almighty Allah to restore life to normal, especially as the month of Ramadan is fast approaching.
