Missing Kuwaiti Woman Arrested At Airport

Officers at Kuwait International Airport arrested a Kuwaiti woman who was referred to the Public Prosecution for traveling illegally to the United States of America. A security source said the woman was reported missing by her family in Jahra three months ago and the security authorities have been looking for her since then.

The passport officers were surprised when they checked the records of the woman who came from the US as she was reported ‘missing’. During interrogation, the woman admitted that she hoodwinked the passport officer who let her pass without stamping her passport. She added that even the officers assigned at the boarding gate did not check her passport.

Authorities are now reviewing the CCTV camera recordings to determine whether an official helped the woman leave the country or not. Meanwhile, in an unrelated development, police arrested a Kuwaiti woman wanted by law for failure to pay her debt amounting to KD 40,000, The woman was arrested at a police checkpoint in Salwa and then she was referred to the Sentences Enforcement Department.
