Moh Produced And Published Awareness Movie On Traffic Accidents
The Ministry of Health (MoH) has produced and published on YouTube website a short movie to raise people awareness about the dangers of non-abidance by traffic rules. The clip publishing coincides with the World Day of Remembrance of Road Traffic Victims (WDR), Chairperson of the MoH's Media Office Dr. Ghaliya Al-Mutairi told KUNA.
She pointed out that the WDR is commemorated on the third Sunday of November each year - to remember the many millions killed and injured on the world's roads, together with their families, friends and many others who are also affected.
It is also a Day on which the world thank the emergency services and reflect on the tremendous burden and cost of this daily continuing disaster to families, communities and countries, and on ways to halt it, she said.
Al-Mutairi unveiled that the Interior Ministry's Traffic Department figures have shown that 99,000 traffic accident took place in Kuwait in 2014 and left over 461 people dead.
She urged all relevant bodies to launch a nationwide campaign to raise people, particularly youth, awareness about the dangers of disobeying traffic and safety rules as a major factors for the growing number of road accidents.
