Motorists Decried The Attitude Of Traffic Police

26 June 2016 Kuwait

Several police working around Journalism Street have expressed displeasure toward the attitude of traffic police who issue citations against cars parked in open spaces, even if they do not affect the traffic flow, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

Many of them narrated they were shocked to find stickers pasted on the windscreen of their cars, indicating wrong parking, without justification. They stressed that “No parking”, sign was placed at the location to point toward violation of traffic code.

They lamented the stickers were placed on their windscreens in the haste, such that they were not given any chance to explain their position.

They expressed frustration against the officers who chose a calm and peaceful atmosphere to embark on traffic patrol and inspection, while leaving many problematic locations with serious jams and high population density.

They contended the traffic situation at Shuwaikh Industrial Area, which is congested with many workshops, stores and services projects, should attracts officers rather than quiet areas like Journalism Street.

The emphasized that many Kuwaitis and non-Kuwaitis ply Shuwaikh Industrial Area; thus traffic congestion there require more efforts in order to protect the shops and workshop operators against reckless drivers who park cars and heavy duty vehicles in front of the shops.

They cited the Canada Dry Street as almost becoming another used automobile market, in view of the rate of congestion witnessed by the interior and exterior roads.
