Mp Gears To File 3 Grillings
As the summer vacation draws to an end, MP Riyadh Al-Adsani disclosed that he prepared three interpellation motions for Interior Minister Lieutenant General Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah, Finance Minister Nayef Al-Hajraf and HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
The lawmaker will submit these interpellation motions once proven that reforms were not implemented throughout the summer break.
He described Sheikh Khaled as the “minister of reactions,” pointing out the minister takes action only if parliamentary movements on a particular issue intensify. He cited the Abdally cell, real estate scams and escape of individuals wanted by law as issues that the minister addressed only after the disclosure of an interpellation.
He went on to advice the government to rectify its budget and expenditures, and refrain from submitting inaccurate and misleading reports in this regard to the Parliament. He said the government is obligated to elaborate on its directive to address the price hike issue and explain implications and efforts to everyone including expatriates and Bedouns. “We do not want to sell illusions to the general public, considering the government claims it has plans to improve public welfare in a cost-effective manner. This is far-fetched especially since governmental projects are being transferred to the Amiri Diwan,” he asserted.
In another development, MP Hamdan Al-Azmi warned Minister of Public Works Jenan Boushehri on the imminent environmental disaster in Sabah Al-Ahmad City as multiple reports on overflowing sewage throughout the city have been recorded.
He said the temporary wastewater treatment plant has a capacity of 9,000 cubic centimeters; but the city produces 24,000 cubic centimeters. This necessitates immediate solutions such as the establishment of a new treatment plant to prevent the disaster, he concluded.
