Pahw Will Prioritize The Privatization Of Facilities For Housing Grant Applications

The Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) will prioritize the privatization of facilities in South Sabah Al-Ahmad City for housing grant applications submitted before and on Dec 31, 2012, reports Annahar daily.

In a press statement, PAHW called on the concerned housing grant applicants to visit the relevant Citizens Services Center starting from Wednesday.

The authority advised those desiring privatization to submit copies of the civil IDs of the husband, wife and children; copy of marriage contract if the husband has a second wife; copy of divorce paper if applicable, and certificate from the Ministry of Justice with the name of husband and Kuwaiti or GCC wife with the civil ID.

Private sector employees should submit a new detailed salary certificate showing the rent or housing allowance and certificate from the Public Institution for Social Security (PIFSS) on the extension of subscription.  If the applicant is retired, works in the private sector or does not work, he should submit a new certificate from PIFSS, the authority added.

Meanwhile, The National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) is currently preparing for the second phase of the project to catalogue, index and classify books in public libraries, reports Annahar daily.

In a press statement, Assistant Secretary General of the Culture Sector in NCCAL Dr Essa Al-Ansari disclosed that around 60,000 books will be distributed to public libraries upon completion of the project.

He said this is in compliance with the instructions given by Minister of Information, State Minister for Youths Affairs and Head of  NCCAL Mohammad Al-Jabri and Secretary General of NCCAL Ali Al-Youha to develop public libraries as they play cultural and awareness roles.

In a another development more than one week ago, the value of the Turkish Lira declined remarkably and the Turkish government at the time sought to address the issue; while a number of foreign students in Turkish universities, those who purchased properties through installments and the tourists benefited the most from this currency weakness, reports Al-Anba daily.

Parents and guardians of foreign students in Turkish universities affirmed that they benefited from the depreciation of the Turkish Lira, especially since it coincided with the beginning of the new academic year.
