Personnel From The Moi Put The Al- Layyah Reserve Under Surveillance
Following the publication of a news report by the Al-Rai daily on Feb 5, personnel from the Ministry of Interior put the Al- Layyah Reserve under surveillance.
The daily added, following the unprecedented chaos, the Jahra security director Brigadier Abdullah Al-Ajmi issued orders to post security patrols in the vicinity of the reserve with the assistance of the police, including elements of public security and rescue, while the departments of the Environment Police are tasked with monitoring and follow-up 24 hours, in addition to confiscating the weapons.
This happened following frequent complaints about violations committed by camels’ owners and others at the Al-Layyah reserve that trespassed the area in violation of the law in search of truffles and this prompted the Ministry of the Interior to strike with an iron fist and protect the environment and prevent the destruction of wildlife.
The General Security Sector, the General Directorate of the Rescue Police, the Environment Police and the Weapons Collection Department coordinated efforts to save the rest of the wildlife inside the Al-Laya reserve. security source said, “After the repeated meetings, an order was issued by Brigadier Al-Ajmi, to provide protection to the reserve within 24 hours.
