The arrest came after the Hawally detectives received information from a police agent that the suspect was exploiting the license he owns to import medicines and medical products and large quantity of medical solutions used in some of the therapeutic formulas and distributing them to pharmacies after tampering with their validity dates. Following this a directive was issued to put the man under surveillance and arrest him. He was caught in a trap in front of the General Traffic Department while he was renewing his car registration.
During the search operation, the traffic officers found in his car cartons of medical solutions. A security source said: “The suspect confessed that he imported the solutions from abroad through the import and export company and he has a licence to import medicines and supply them to local pharmacies. He also explained he has a store in Hawally where he stores all the medicines which he imports from abroad.
