Policemen Warned Not To Use Mobile Phones On Duty
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Lt Gen Issam Al-Naham has issued a circular No. 2/2019 warning police personnel not to be preoccupied with the mobile phone while on duty, reports Al- Anba daily.
The circular, a copy of which has been obtained by the daily, says this is done to instill discipline among the securitymen so that their work in maintaining security and following up the tasks assigned to them does not get affected,
In confirmation of what was stated in Circular No. 192 of 2016, members of the police force who are field workers or who are charged with other security duties are prohibited from using or engaging in mobile phones for personal purposes that has nothing to do with the duty or task assigned to them.
The circular says anyone who violates this will be referred to the competent authority for investigation and if found guilty disciplinary action will be taken. He added, assistant undersecretaries, general managers and directors of the respective departments in the ministry are aware of this circular and work to implement it strictly.
