Public Prosecution Dprtmnt Detained The Man Accused Of Beating Policeman
The Public Prosecution Department Thursday decided to detain the man accused of beating a policeman for 21 days in the Central Prison. Informed sources added the Public Prosecution denied request of the suspect’s lawyer for his client to undergo psychiatric analysis on claims of suffering from mental disorder. Also, it decided to detain a lawyer for the same period pending investigation on accusations of forging banking documents to withdraw one million dinars from a client’s account. The lawyer denied all charges leveled against him, adding he had signed an agreement allowing him to manage the monetary affairs of the plaintiff based on other business affairs. The bank’s defense lawyer and head of legal affairs sector affirmed that the lawyer indeed forged documents and used them in an illegitimate manner. Meanwhile, the prosecution department decided to release on KD 500 bail the Kuwaiti woman who posted a video on social media recently abusing policemen. In the evening trial session, the Criminal Court slammed the capital punishment on a Kuwaiti accused of killing his Saudi friend in a dispute. The accused had managed to flee the country until Saudi authorities detained and extradited him to Kuwait.
