MOI Ready To Ensure Security, Safety In Ramadan, Warns Against Begging, Eating In Daytime
Kuwait: The MOI personnel are ready for the holy month of Ramadan to ensure the safety on roads, Acting Relations and Security Information Director General Brig Tawheed Al-Kandari said, Orders have been issued to ensure the safety of Citizens and expatriates during #Ramadan and the overall security plan for the country would be implemented in all sectors.
He warned Citizens and Expatriates against eating of drinking in public during the fasting month of Ramadan. ” any person seen eating of drinking publicly would be fined KD 100 and jailed for one month maximum, or one of these penalties”. Al-Kandari added.
Al-Kandari urged the public to turn in any beggar they may accost by calling the emergency hot-line 112 or contacting the nearest police station or police officer.
Any expat caught begging during Ramadan will be subjected to immediate deportation, he said.
Do's and Don'ts:
a.No eating, drinking or smoking in public – this is a strict rule and is enforced throughout the country, and people seen eating, drinking or smoking could receive a large fine and even be deported.
b. Dress more modestly taking care to cover the shoulders, knees and chest area – ensure that your attire is lowing and that it covers more of you. Modesty is key for men and women during this time.
c. Don’t play loud music in your home or car – Ramadan is a time of reflection and playing loud music is seen as a sign of disrespect. Nightclubs and live music venues are closed during this time and only very soft background music is played in restaurants.
d. No public displays of affection
