Sand Portrait Of Kuwaiti Amir Enters Guinness Records Book

27 February 2019 Kuwait

A giant artwork dedicated to the Amir of Kuwait Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah on his country’s 58th National Day has entered the Guinness World Records for biggest sand portrait.

Themed "Prince of Humanity", the sand artwork was dedicated by the UAE to the Kuwaiti leader whose country celebrated the 38th anniversary of the Liberation Day.

The artwork, the biggest sand portrait in the world to-date, covers more than 170 square feet.

It took more than 2,400 hours for the artwork to take shape in the region of Al Qudra in Dubai, using natural sandstone in red degrees.

The Amir of Kuwait has thus become the first leader in the world whose portrait can be seen from space, said Al Bayan.
