Woman Swindled Through Telephone

22 August 2016 Crime News

An old Kuwaiti woman fell victim to swindling through telephone in spite of the repeated warnings issued by telecommunication companies that the public should be wary of calls giving them the illusion of winning big cash prizes. The victim, who lives in Al-Salaam and was born in 1951, received a phone call from a man who claimed to be an employee of a telecommunications company saying she won KD 50,000. The man asked for her bank account number and password. Shortly after ending the call, the victim received a message informing her about the withdrawal of KD 7,000 from her account instead of receiving KD 50,000. Bank document forgery case number 20/2016 was filed at Al-Salaam Police Station.
